I'm not sure I'm getting that much more out of my 6 cell, But I plan on putting them in all of my Maglites. Really works well, particularly for the 2 and 3 D-cell flashlights I have.
Get one and you'll see. Kind of an expensive upgrade, almost as much as the flashlight originally cost, but you can't get any other light like it for this price. It puts out a significantly brighter, clear, light.
If you have a Maglite with a standard bulb, I highly recommend the LED upgrade module. The light output is outstanding, and mine even works with rechargeable batteries (some customers complained that theirs didn't). Just when I thought a Maglite could not possibly get any better, here came the LED upgrade module. This upgrade is well worth the money, and you will even make your money back in the long run because of its efficient use of power.
Very bright light, but I find the blueish white a bit disturbing (unpleasant) to look at. I will have to bring a AA Mag for backup if I go in a dark crawlspace for backup.
MAG says they stop the manufacture of it recently. Still, it seems that its the best LED upgrade compared to what else is out there.
Purchased this to hope to save in batteries. Read a review that said there is no warning that it will go out since it does not dim like the regular bulb.
I wonder why. Quite expensive compared to the cost of the original 3 D.
Not sure how well it works with extending battery life yet.
Most of my flashlight are led so I hope this well be the future of led techology. Excellent led module for the maglite 3 D flashlight.
